9 Reasons Why Our Texas Made Lures ROCK 🇺🇸🦅

50,000+ Happy Customers

1. UV glow lets fish see your lure from farther away, day or night.

Light behaves totally different underwater. Regular colors get filtered out quick, but UV travels further, which means a UV reflective/glowing lure can get detected sooner. More detection distance = more looks = more bites. The night glow is a bonus, but the daytime UV reflectiveness is the real cheat code.

2. Garlic covers up your screw ups, pulls fish in, and makes ‘em hold on longer.

Sunscreen, bug spray, fuel, nicotine… negative scents get on your hands and gear way easier than you think and fish absolutely react to that stuff. Our garlic is infused IN the plastic, not a coating, so it lasts the life of the lure, helps mask those negative smells, helps them find it, and buys you that extra split second after the strike that turns “tap tap… missed him” into “yep, got him.”

3. The Curly Tail Jerkshad is a hybrid that does more than most baits, without you doing more.

You get the erratic jerkshad action plus nonstop movement from the curly tail, which makes it stupid versatile. Jighead, weedless, Texas/Carolina, drop shot, wacky, Alabama, tandem… if you can dream it, this lure can do it, and that tail is still gonna be working for you the whole t

4. It’s built to last, and even the “weak points” are designed smart.

We use a harder plastic formula and designed these with durability in mind. They’re not indestructible, but the balance in action & toughness is as good as it gets. And the curly tail is tapered so if it gets ripped, it’s more likely to tear at the end where it’s getting pulled from instead of at the base where you lose the whole tail to one short strike. Less wasted baits, more fishing.

5. The MOJO Combo is literally my personal confidence setup, and the colors aren’t random.

This is what I use day in & day out when I don’t feel like playing games. Watermelon Red is that natural clear-to-slightly-murky workhorse. Dragonfruit is the staple we spent forever perfecting and it shines in that sandy green “predators are happy” water. Midnight Mullet is the dark baitfish imitation that gets eaten day or night in murk. Texas Broach is the dirty water hammer and one of my oldest confidence colors. And OG Red Glow… if there is such thing as a secret weapon, that little morsel is it, and you can’t even buy it outside this combo.

6. The Jigheads aren’t an afterthought, they’re the centerpiece.

I spent a year designing these with one goal: make the most durable jigheads in existence. Custom hook, 2x wire, upgraded point, special coating for extreme corrosion resistance, and stainless screw locks so there aren’t weak points. These are jigheads you can tie on and fish with confidence over and over and over again.

7. You don’t have to overthink how to work it.

Treat it like a jerkshad with extra action. Quick little twitches, pauses, adjust based on what the fish tell you. Speed, pause length, depth… all that changes day to day. The only “secret” is paying attention so when you get a bite you can replicate what caused it.

8. It’s made by us, in-house, in Harlingen, Texas, and that actually matters.

We design it, test it, pour it, bag it, and ship it ourselves. No outsourcing everything and slapping a label on it. If you’ve ever been burned by “assembled in America” shenanigans… yeah, this ain’t that.

9. You’re saving real money on stuff you’ll actually use.

The MOJO Combo is built to be simple, effective, and a deal. You’re getting a full confidence setup at a discount, instead of piecing it together pack by pack and still wondering if you picked the right stuff.

The Colors

Watermelon Red 4"

Deep clear green with red glitter & some UV sauce, very natural presentation, I like fishing this in clear to slightly murky water, especially with a little sun to bring out the red shimmer from the glitter.

Dragonfruit 4"

Light purple top with a touch of purple/red glitter over a pearl belly with a violet sheen that glows bright blue, we spent over a year developing this color, it's a great color all around, works well in clear & dirty water but my favorite is sandy green water, not too clear, not too dirty, mega predators' favorite conditions, add a touch of sunlight to bring out the ridiculous shimmer in the belly, this one's a staple.

Midnight Mullet 4"

A black back, purple lateral line & pearlescent belly makes this triple color unique, I basically treat this as the dark version of Dragonfruit, fantastic baitfish imitation, fishes well in murky to dirty water, many, many large fish of all species have fallen for this color day & night!

Texas Broach 4"

This is one of the first colors I ever put together, I based it off an old Mirrolure I used to throw with my Grandaddy as a kid that had a black top & belly with gold foil sides and an orange throat, this color is the best dirty water color. Black back with gold shimmer, fluorescent orange belly with gold glitter. I use this for very dirty water & fishing deeper like in a muddy gut, I have caught most of my largest fish on this one, its an absolute confidence color, I've always got it with me!

OG Red Glow 3"

If there is such thing as a Secret Weapon, this little morsel is it for me. In fact, outside of this combo I don't even sell this color. Bright white with red glow, simple, clean, flat out effective. This is what I throw when the fish are being finnicky, an irrisistible offering that's too easy for them to pass up. I especially like to rig this on one of our 3/16oz jigheads to work the bottom for flounder.

The Jigheads

I spent a year working on these with one goal, to make the most durable jigheads in existence & the center piece is the hooks. I worked with Mustad & put together a custom jig hook with a 2x wire, upgraded Alpha Point & a special coating called Titan Steel. The result is a Sharper hook, More durable point & a Rock solid wire with Extreme Corrosion Resistance. I put these to the test soaking one in saltwater that lasted over 700 hours with no rust alongside fishing 2 of them over 15 trips & several hundred fish & they are still sharp & rust free. I am sure these will rust at some point, but I have not been able to find that point yet, they've completely blown me away. I even got custom screw locks made out of stainless steel to make sure there are 0 weak points. These are jigheads you can tie on and fish with confidence over and over and over again.

The Ones Included

If you know anything about me, you know I like to keep it simple. The jigheads I choose to carry are no different, I carry a light one and a heavy one. For me those are 1/16oz & 3/16oz, a pack of each are included in this combo, but I like to fish slowly & methodically & some like to fish a little quicker, so we decided to offer this combo as well with a 1/8oz & 1/4oz jigheads option. The 2/0 hook size pairs up perfectly with our 4" baits in this combo & also works well with the 3" & 5.5" sizes if you

1/16oz & 3/16oz - 2/0

I typically wade fish, shallow water, slow presentation, I like to sort've hang the lure within a tight zone in the water column with small, quick twitches of the rod tip, just reeling fast enough to keep slack out of the line just letting the bait roll back and forth with the tail fluttering around. Which is why I like the light 1/16oz for this, if I am trying to keep the bait on the bottom or fishing some deeper guts/ledges, maybe with some heavy current, I will use the 3/16 to keep the bait down more.

1/8oz & 1/4oz - 2/0

If you like to fish a little faster, maybe drifting or with a trolling motor where you are moving towards where you're casting, especially coupling that with some current whether that's driven by a stout wind or the natural tides, it makes sense to use a heavier weight to keep the lure where you want it in the water column.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's Up With The Garlic Scent?

All of our lures are infused with a potent garlic scent, this helps cover up negative scents like sunscreen & gives the fish a little extra something to hold onto & help them find your lure. (don't ask why it works, all I know is that it does lol)

Shipping/Exchanges/Returns

Shipping: We typically ship orders within 1-2 business days of the order date, however we are a very small operation still & can get backed up every now & then from a high influx of orders, which is rare, but we usually work through these very quickly.

Exchanges: If you want to exchange unused lures, please reach out via the chat box on the bottom right hand corner & will get you taken care of, I have no problem exchanging, however we are not responsible for return shipping.

Returns: I don't care why, if you are not happy, send back whatever you don't like & will happily refund you upon receipt less shipping, whether it's a return or exchange, we are not responsible for return shipping.

Glows

Bioluminescence (creatures producing light) is fairly common in the marine world, this is what our glowing colors are designed to imitate, just another little bonus to help you out in low light conditions

Design/Durabillity

Our Curly Tail Jerkshad is a hybrid design that has fantastic, erratic action of a jerk shad with nonstop movement from the curly tail, this leads to an incredibly versatile lure that can successfully fill many rolls in your tackle box. We've designed these with durability in mind & use a hard plastic formula, they are not indestructible, but the balance in action & durability is as good as it gets.

Quantities

Quantity of baits per pack in each size are:

  • 3" - 12 (60 total in Top 5)
  • 4" - 8 (40 total in Top 5)
  • 5.5" - 6 (30 total in Top 5)

**Remember, your Top 5 comes with 5 full packs of whichever size(s) you choose**

Sizes

This combo is available in 3 sizes, 3", 4" & 5.5", the best I can describe the sizes in words is roughly 3" is pinky sized, 4" is middle finger sized & 5.5" is..

Rigging

I prefer a standard screw lock jig head with 1/0-3/0 sized hook, however the longer body allows you to rig it weedless as well, which unlocks a variety of rigging options. Texas/Carolina rigs, drop shot, wacky, Alabama, tandem, if you can dream it, this lure can do it.

Working/Action

Do not over think this. I treat these as jerkshads with extra action from the curly tail, I tend to work these back & forth erratically with quick series of short, sharp twitches of the rod tip followed by pauses & adjust accordingly. Speed, length of pauses, drops etc. are all going to vary on your fishing style, conditions, etc. Try slower & faster retrieves, fish the surface, bottom & everything in between until you figure out what the fish want. The best advice I can give about this is to pay attention to what you are doing & how you are doing it so when you get a bite you can put the lure back in the zone & replicate what lead to the bite. If you're not paying attention it will take you much longer to figure out what's going on.
