Size Selection

Once you got your Color Selection down, this is
the next layer to the formula, if you haven’t read my post on color selection yet, I recommend checking it out first,
then coming back and reading this one, but it’s up to you!

If you don’t already know, we currently sell our lures in
four sizes, 3” 4” 5.5” & 7”

Depending on the variety of fishing you do, you’ll probably
use one or two of these way more than the others, but they all have their time
and place!

Let’s start small with the 3” and work our way up, these are
great little lures, whether it’s to mimic smaller prey or you’re targeting
smaller species, or the fish are just being picky, whenever sizing down is in
order, these are the way to go!

“Elephants eat peanuts” is a cliché fraise that’s 110% true,
don’t be afraid to throw these to larger quarry, I’ve personally caught trout
and flounder up to 6.5-7lbs on them, check them out!

I particularly love to throw these for flounder, they're
stomachs aren't that big so I've found they typically go for smaller baits and
they simply can’t resist this little morsel just skimming across a sandy
bottom.

They also work super well for sight fishing, especially when
the fish are being picky, it’s hard to pass up such an easy little snack when
you place it right and rigging these up on a tandem set up and hitting the pier
lights is, oof, game over!

Now moving on to the 4” size, as a predominantly inshore
angler, this size is my bread and butter, I’m throwing these 90% of the time
and sizing up or down situationally,

This size’s profile works to mimic most “finger sized”
natural baits, from shrimp to baitfish, you can rig and work them an infinite
variety of ways and they just flat out catch fish in a multitude of situations!

Moving up, the 5.5” size has a bit more weight to it, works
well on a heavy jig head for nearshore jigging, fishing off the jetties, surf
fishing, really just deeper water situations in general, and on a lighter jig
head gives you a solid profile to mimic larger inshore baitfish with

I like to throw this size on windy days inshore, the added
size helps it to “stand up” to the noisy wind and rough water, it also adds a
good bit of casting distance with the extra weight.

I’ve also done well throwing these on a heavier jig head for
snook, mangrove snapper and red snapper!

Big Mangrove Snapper on the 5.5"

7lb Trout That Crushed The 7"

Now for the BMOC, the 7”.

This one’s kinda getting up there for us inshore guys, but
trust me, trout and redfish will CRUSH this thing with vengeance, at a touch
under an ounce, .925oz to be exact, it doesn’t weigh any more than a Corky or
large topwater and it presents an irresistible opportunity for a huge
meal that is hard for aggressive species to resist,

Off the jetties and offshore, this size is perfect, snapper,
ling, grouper, tarpon, bull reds, striper and more have and will all hammer
this lure.

We’ve even got guys up north dropping these down and
catching mondo lake trout, heading off the coast to catch big striper, catching
peacock bass in the Amazon and lots of stuff in between, I’m sure northern pike
and musky would love this thing too, this is just a big, killer soft plastic
lure that you can entice a variety of large species with!

Pairing all the colors we offer with the range of sizes, you
can truly find the right lure for just about any species you may be chasing!
